Day 2
… and I will jump right to my conclusion: This is the last time, absolutely the last time, utterly honest, I swear to God the very last time, that I am on a diet in this life! Detox? Weight loss? Somebody give me some food!
Looking back, the day didn’t start so bad. I was not hungry for all I can remember and enjoyed a small breakfast consisting of a cup of coffee with low fat milk and a plain whole-grain roll. Something to eat for breakfast! A huge improvement compared to day 1. I started work in high spirits, telling everybody how motivated I still am, what a good thing detox is and even tried to win people for my case. Was it because I don’t want to be hungry anymore by myself? Maybe. Speaking of – my stomach that was kind of subtle with reporting its needs yesterday, started terrorizing me quite openly at around 11 a.m. The situation was solved during a depressing lunch break: Did my cold chicken breast that was fried in water and lacked any seasoning except of pepper look bad next to my colleagues’ potato-bacon mix? Yes, it did! Did my leaf salad with cress, cucumber and balsamic vinegar save the meal? No, it didn’t.
I finally suffered a reasonable setback in motivation in the afternoon: My colleagues had a snack and a bit of chocolate, I had a headache, a lack of concentration and a fairly bad mood. 3:2 for me! Yeah! The day didn’t seem to pass, hours dragged painfully until I was finally allowed to have an unsatisfactory dinner: a whole pineapple with as much fat-free yoghurt as I wanted to. What do I take from this day? I am grumpy, impatient, hungry for most of the time, low in energy, don’t weigh a gram less and hate fat-free dairy products. Why? Because they simply don’t taste good – that’s why. Can’t wait for day 3. There’s some ham on the menu that could make my day. To be continued…
