Soured Cream Silver Dollar Spelt Pancakes

A delicious dish from Lanserhof's cook book "The 50 healthiest 10-minute recipes".

For 2 servings of Soured Cream Silver Dollar Spelt Pancakes on Sautéed Pak Choi you will need:


Silver Dollar Pancakes:

  • 100g (3½fl oz) soured cream
  • 50g (2oz) coarsely ground spelt
  • 1 organic egg
  • 2 pinches baking powder
  • sea salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp ghee


Pak Choi:

  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1½ heads pak choi, washed and cut into quarters
  • 30ml (1fl oz) white wine
  • ½ tbsp tahini (sesame seed paste)
  • ½ tbsp sesame oil
  • sea salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 pinches chili powder


In addition:

  • 15ml (½fl oz) Sweet Asian Sauce
  • 6 cherry tomatoes, washed and halved



  1. Add the soured cream, coarsely ground spelt, egg, baking powder, salt, pepper and nutmeg to a mixing cup and blend with an immersion blender until you have a smooth batter.
  2. Heat the ghee in a skillet. Spoon the dough into the skillet, spread out evenly to make silver dollar pancakes and cook on both sides until golden brown.
  3. In the meantime, heat the ghee for the pak choi in a second skillet. Sauté the pak choi on each side for 30 seconds, deglaze with the white wine and stir in the tahini. Season with the sesame oil, salt and pepper and top with the chili powder.
  4. Arrange the pak choi and silver dollar pancakes on pre-warmed plates. Drizzle the Sweet Asian Sauce on top and garnish with the tomatoes.
