The Joy of Giving
by Steve Griffith - General Manager at Sukhavati Ayurvedic Retreat and Spa
Giving is the joy of whole person transformation that creates true spiritual wellness and a life with purpose beyond our own small worries and ego.
The true theme of giving has been to surrender our individual small self, ego and our selfish needs. At the core of wellness is one human characteristic "Selflessness", the desire to serve only self-interest diminishes. We begin to experience ourselves and the world as a different place. We think less about our own needs and more about others. This creates joy and joy is a thought that heals us.
For the world to change, people must change. The world needs givers at all levels of our community. We can quote statistics on global poverty (400million people with no place to live and no food) but we must also learn to give time, love and compassion, non-judgement and create the giving heart where we are, with those around us in our home, neighborhood, community. Whatever our vision is, giving must become our way of life.
Yes giving is Good Karma.
