Vanessa Oelker

Vanessa Oelker holds a diploma in Economics and Sociology from the University of Hamburg, Germany. After studying journalism at the Axel Springer Akademie in Berlin she started her career as a writer. For more than two decades Vanessa has contributed to highly acclaimed publications, such as Financial Times Deutschland, Süddeutsche Zeitung, ZEITmagazin, „Splendid“, the luxury supplement of Manager Magazin and „stilvoll“, the lifestyle supplement of Der Spiegel.

Driven by a deep interest in foreign cultures, Vanessa frequently travels the globe reporting on destinations such as Bhutan, Guatemala, Samoa or Chile. Her travel pieces have been published in GEO Saison, Capital and „How to Spend it“, the luxury supplement of Financial Times Germany among others.
