Why Now is the Perfect Time to Develop Your Fitness Passion

Have you ever set yourself the goal of starting a fitness journey that never materialised? Or you enjoy keeping fit, but think you don’t have the time? A 2019 survey revealed that 42% of people saw time as the main barrier getting in the way of their healthy lifestyle plans. If there is anything that 2020 has taught us, it’s that you never know what life will throw at you, and it is important to make the most of every moment. That’s exactly why now is the perfect time to focus on you and your fitness dreams, and here are some reasons why it will benefit you and others more than ever.

 

Keeping Healthy During the Pandemic

It has already been revealed that you are more likely to suffer from severe Covid-19 with an underlying health condition. While there are conditions causing vulnerability that are not by choice, keeping as fit and healthy as possible is key. Obesity has been shown to put people at higher risk from Covid-19, and is an ever-growing concern, with the UK having one of the highest obesity rates in Europe. Maintaining a healthy weight therefore decreases your vulnerability risk and improves your health from a general wellbeing perspective.

You do not need lots of time to exercise. If you are currently working from home due to the pandemic, use the time from your commute for physical activity. Even little things that walking during breaks is better than nothing. Make the most of those little pockets of time during your day.

 

Creating a Life from Your Fitness Passion

Are you already a fitness enthusiast, but are struggling to know how to expand the journey? If you live and breathe all things fitness but are finding that gym workouts and exercise classes are not getting into the depth that you want to take your goals, then consider taking a personal training course. It’s okay if your mental health has taken a hit this year, what with lockdowns, economic struggles, and a health crisis to contend with, but looking after your mental wellbeing alongside your physical health is important. The two are anything but separate though. Research has shown that physical activity can reduce stress and anxiety levels, improve sleep quality, boost your mood, and increase productivity. If you are new to the fitness world and struggling for motivation when it comes to exercise, don’t just see it as a necessary step for physical health, but as a powerful tool to improve your mental health and live better.

There are so many reasons why now is the time to put those excuses aside and start developing your love for fitness and that healthy lifestyle you have always dreamt of. Your mental and physical health can thrive, and you can become the best version of yourself.
