How to Live a More Sustainable Life

How to Live a More Sustainable Life

© Elevate the Globe

We’re ALL about creating a life of love and bliss, but we also believe in doing all we can for the betterment of our home, our planet. In living a high vibe life full of abundance, it’s important to look outside yourself and practice loving in all ways – including loving Mama Gaia.

Yogi Bhajan asks, “Earth—the Sustainer, the mother of you, which nurtures you—can you serve it back?”

We are given lifeforce by this Earth, we seek guidance and grounding from the energy she gives. We are blessed to be on a physical plane because of her nurturing home. Love your Mother Earth. She is home. Without her we are nothing and with her, we are grounded and connected.

By living a sustainable and eco-conscious life, we can have a bigger impact and do our part in contributing to less waste. It’s honestly so exciting to give back to our home. The biggest impact starts with looking at how much waste you are contributing. What ways can you reduce your footprint and go green? We’re all on the same team!

Raise the vibration of your own energy.

One of the easiest ways to love Earth is to raise the vibration of your own energy so you are aligned with bliss and enlightenment and can then give back to the planet and be an inspiration for others. Through meditation, being kind, giving back and radiating positively is how we elevate ourselves and the planet.

Go plastic-free.

These days it’s so easy to find convenient and fun ways to reduce your plastic waste completely. From reusable water bottles, straws and cutlery – it’s so easy to go plastic-free. We love TULZ for all the straws, forks and knives you could ever need. We also bring our own water bottles and reusable mugs wherever we go. Use the Tap App to find places to refill your reusable bottle when you’re out and about!

Try vegan – even just one meal a day.

Not only do you get to try new things and play in the kitchen but you learn to appreciate all Mother Earth creates.

When we began to educate ourselves, we learned the vibration of food and the way it affects your mind, body and soul is so crucial for your well-being. But it also affects the environment and all the beings living on this planet. Our solution? Became vegan and it feels SO good. We understand that everyone is affected differently by food and you have to find what works for you. If you want to live a more green life, try eating one vegan meal a day or eat more plant-based meals. Explore One Meal a Day for more info on this practice and recipe ideas!

Support eco-friendly brands.

Being more conscientious of the clothes you buy, the beauty products you use and the products you stock your home with are simple ways you can live a more sustainable life. Reformation, Mystic Tribe, Zara and many other brands are adopting cute sustainable fashion practices and trends. We are huge fans of Elate cosmetics, Osea beauty products and Seed Phytonutrients because of their commitment to sustainability. When shopping, do your research and find out where it’s made and pay attention to the ingredients/materials.

Travel green.

There are really nice hotels out there that commit to using eco-friendly practices. You can also look at Airbnb and ask the host what kind of sustainable choices they make like if they have recycling and compost available. We recently visited Bali and stayed in the Green Village, which was a fully sustainable bamboo house – so beautiful!

End plastic bag use.

One way to be more eco-friendly that often gets overlook and is so simple is bringing your own bags to the grocery stores (maybe your own containers if you’re ambitious!). Bring your own produce and tote bags whenever you go to the store. We recommend even leaving some in your car so you never forget!

Connecting to Mother Earth committing to a more sustainable life is so rewarding. It is even more strengthened when you commit to doing your part to help elevate the planet and give back to our home. The more you connect with Earth, the more vast and abundant your life will be.
