6 Mindset Shifts to Become Your Healthiest Self

You can be the best version of yourself a lot more easily than you might realize.
In order to be the best version of yourself you only need to build two things into your life. The first is positivity. It’s all about how you see yourself and where you want to get to that will make a difference. However, if you’re negative, you’ll never have the drive or determination to do anything. The other thing you need is consistency. There are very few instant fixes in life—it’s all about consistent application and practice. This may not be what you want to hear, but as this article will show you, you can take pride in the journey.
Realize that you really are beautiful
You’re beautiful, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Whilst most people won’t experience overt criticism of their appearance, you will see idealized images portrayed online and in the media on a daily basis. If you want to really live your best life and become the best version of yourself, you need to remember that you’re beautiful just the way you are. No one has the right to make you feel otherwise. If you shift your mindset, they simply won’t be able to. This does not mean you should not take care of yourself. A cosmetic treatment here and there to keep your skin healthy above everything else can help you boost your self-esteem. But bear in mind that the goal is to feel, not look better.
Combat the feeling that you’re not worthy
Feeling unworthy is something that many of us experience at some time or another in our lives. It’s often known as imposter syndrome, and it’s something even the most successful people in the world feel. It’s natural, it’s normal, but that doesn’t mean it should rule your life. You can break the hold it has over you by taking the time to draw up a list of everything you’ve achieved in your life already.
Make it as long as you possibly can, and read it every morning when you wake up. It’ll start imbuing you with the confidence that you really are worthy, and that you do belong.
Take pride in what you’ve already achieved
You want to be able to look back on your life and feel you’ve given it your best shot.
This point follows on naturally from the last, and it’s all about looking back with pride. If you brush everything off you’ve done, and only focus on what’s left to do, you’ll never take satisfaction in your accomplishments. If you’re anything like the majority of people who are always stuck in the here and now, you’ll have forgotten dozens of incredible achievements.
Remember the days when you dreamt of having everything you’ve got right now
Take the time to remember where you came from, and contrast those days with everything you have today.
These wise words are something everyone should tell themselves because they allow you to break the hold the events of right now have over you. It can be so easy to get annoyed when your car breaks down. Or when the boiler needs an urgent service visit. But what about how you were 5 years ago? Didn’t you used to sit in a smaller apartment, with a much older car, waiting to meet your partner for a lifetime? Now you maybe have all of those things, but you’re still annoyed by the little things. Doesn’t make sense, does it?
Tell yourself you really do make a difference in the world
We all need to feel we make a difference in the world. Anyone who doesn’t will quickly feel disenfranchised or helpless. It doesn’t matter whether it’s in your job, in the local community, or just at home to the people you love, you need to feel like you’re making a difference.
The key here is to set yourself an achievable goal every single day that whilst requiring attention and focus, won’t be impossibly difficult or exhausting. That way you can go to bed knowing you’ve improved your life in some small way. Do this 500 times in a row and your life will have changed beyond recognition.
Take pride in taking responsibility for the people you love
Taking responsibility is one of the best ways you can become your healthiest self. It’s a change you can make virtually overnight. If you give yourself little jobs around the house that are yours and only you do, you’ll love the feeling of having provided for the people you love. It can be anything, it really doesn’t matter how small or easy the job is. The point is that the more you do, the more you’ll want to do.
Now that you’ve heard half a dozen ways you can shift your mindset, you need to get out into the world and start making the changes you want to see. It may not always be easy, but the destination will always be worth the journey.
