Let Your Emotions Speak

Often people seek distractions to deal with anxiety, loss, pain and fear. Whilst this is one way of dealing with personal circumstances there is another approach.
Emotions surface because they want to be acknowledged and expressed. We are conditioned not to show our emotions but this conditioning keeps us stuck in our own drama.
Imagine a young child seeking attention. It’s the same with our emotions only that some emotions are too difficult – perhaps frightening – to be felt. So, the little child runs away from its own self. But what we resist persists.
Difficult emotions are signposts of issues which have not been resolved in our sub-conscious and therefore unconsciously affect the quality of our life. This is often expressed as a feeling of being stuck, lack of motivation, depression or absence of clarity and purpose. It can also affect your physical health.
Self Mastery and Power
Emotions hunt and follow you until such a point when you gain the courage to deal with them. Sooner or later this time will come. Based on the 7 year cycle of life age 49 – 56 is known as the start of a new period of mastery and personal power. You are becoming interested in your inner world. And you are ready to ‘tidy up’ what no longer serves you.
You don’t have to wait until you are reaching your 50’s. Becoming friends with your emotions is a liberating experience. You are guiding yourself to a deeper understanding of who you truly are and what is really important to you. You make room for new personal values and priorities which result in new experiences and personal freedom.
Try this:
Consciously welcome your emotions and make a note of recurring emotions throughout a few days. Are you mainly anxious, fearful or carry anger, are you feeling joyful and happy? Be honest to yourself.
Until next time!
From my heart to your heart,
