What Mother Nature Wants to Tell You
© Ivan Aleksic
It was dark. I was standing in the middle of an open field in front of a yurt knocking on a small door. A woman with long brown hair opened the door welcoming me with a smile. She made a gesture with her hand to show me an empty space next to an open wood oven. I smelled the fire and noticed the sound of burning wood. So, I sat down on the floor on thick carpet looking around with curiosity. I had arrived at a ceremony to celebrate Imbolc. Imbolc is a Celtic tradition honoring the mid-point of winter and spring. It marks the sight of spring around the corner celebrating Mother Nature, light and fertility.
After some silence we were invited to start drumming. It was my first experience of a drumming circle. The vibration of the many drums, all playing their own tunes yet in such perfect harmony raised the energy in the room to the point which was almost overwhelming; there was so much love and joy all around.
I started to dream of days where people in communities came together to perform rituals. There is so much ancient wisdom in rituals; sadly, something modern society has lost.
Your Internal Awakening
The significance of Imbolc is the start of the year when the earth warms up, everything begins to grow and lambs and other livestock start to be born. It is in this space of reemergence where new life awaits.
We were asked to go outside, connect with Mother Nature and reflect what we want to cultivate and see grow in our lives.
Learning to explore deeply your inner landscape preparing it for fertility is opening you to the ultimate possibility of your life.
Your internal awakening opens the door to a truly unimaginable future.
Today I step back and listen to Mother Nature. I am reemerging from winter. I find joy in the newness of each moment.
