Have you ever put on an outfit that instantly made you feel ready to conquer the world? Do you have a few pieces that are for Bad Mood Days only? The clothes we wear have a profound impact on our self-esteem. If you’re looking to feel amazing in your wardrobe choices, you’re in the right place!

Let’s take a look at a few easy tips that will help you feel happy and confident no matter what you’re wearing for the day.

 

Identify your natural body shape

First things first: know what you’re actually working with. Understanding your natural body shape is key to finding clothing styles that flatter your figure and make you feel confident. Bodies are commonly categorized as follows:

  • Classic hourglass
  • Top hourglass
  • Bottom hourglass
  • Triangle (a.k.a. pear)
  • Inverted triangle (a.k.a. apple)
  • Rectangle (a.k.a. straight or banana)
  • Spoon
  • Round (a.k.a. oval)

Though these labels are mostly mentioned in texts about women’s fashion,  they apply to men’s shapes too. Each person’s body shape depends on their skeletal structure and the natural way their body distributes its fat tissue storage. These factors are final. Temporary changes in silhouette might be influenced by diet, exercise, hormonal profile, and underlying health conditions.

We all come in different shapes and sizes, and embracing your unique body is the first step towards feeling good in your own skin. You can determine your body shape by taking measurements of your bust, waist, and hips. That way you can choose clothes that accentuate your best features.
